Position Title: Office Manager
Reports To: Director of Operations
FLSA Status: Exempt / Full-Time
Location: Long Beach, Mississippi

Position Summary

The Office Manager serves as the administrative backbone of Sweet Life Canna Co., providing leadership and coordination across HR, payroll, compliance, and office operations. This position requires a highly organized professional who thrives in a fast-moving, start-up environment and can balance human resource management with general administrative duties. The Office Manager ensures smooth day-to-day operations while helping maintain a positive and compliant workplace culture.

Key Responsibilities

Human Resources Management

  • Manage employee onboarding, personnel files, and benefits administration.

  • Coordinate recruiting, background checks, and workers’ card applications.

  • Maintain compliance with Mississippi employment laws and company policies.

  • Support employee engagement, training, and performance review processes.

Administrative & Operational Support

  • Oversee daily office operations including scheduling, vendor coordination, and supply management.

  • Maintain accurate documentation, filing systems, and office procedures.

  • Assist leadership with correspondence, reporting, and recordkeeping.

  • Support leadership meetings through agenda preparation, note-taking, and follow-up.

Financial & Compliance

  • Assist with payroll preparation and time tracking.

  • Manage invoices, purchase orders, and expense reporting.

  • Maintain confidentiality of employee and company information.

Technical Skills

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).

  • Experience with HR software and document management systems preferred.

Qualifications

  • Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Human Resources, or related field preferred.

  • 3+ years of experience in office management or HR administration (cannabis industry experience a plus).

  • Strong interpersonal, organizational, and communication skills.

  • Proven ability to handle confidential information with integrity and discretion.

Additional Requirements

  • Must meet all state regulatory requirements for working in the Mississippi medical cannabis industry.

  • Other duties as assigned by the Director of Operations.
