Position Summary

The Assistant General Manager of Cultivation provides operational and administrative leadership to support Sweet Life’s production, compliance, and facility goals. This role assists the Director of Operations in managing daily cultivation activities, documentation, staffing, and reporting across all phases of the grow.

The ideal candidate combines horticultural understanding with strong administrative discipline, regulatory awareness, and leadership ability to keep operations efficient, compliant, and on schedule.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support all phases of the cultivation process: propagation, vegetative growth, flowering, harvest, and post-harvest handoff.

  • Manage documentation, scheduling, and administrative workflows across cultivation teams.

  • Maintain compliance with state and local regulations, including seed-to-sale tracking, labeling, and testing requirements.

  • Ensure safety, sanitation, and environmental control standards are met or exceeded.

  • Oversee staff training, timekeeping, and performance recordkeeping.

  • Track production metrics, yields, and efficiency data; assist in budget and cost reporting.

  • Coordinate maintenance logs, purchase requests, and vendor scheduling.

  • Collaborate cross-functionally with Quality, Facilities, and R&D teams.

  • Perform other duties as assigned or directed by the Director of Operations and/or Chief Cultivation Officer to meet evolving business needs.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Horticulture, Agronomy, Business, or related field preferred.

  • 5–10 years of experience in large-scale commercial horticulture or regulated cannabis cultivation, including supervisory or administrative leadership.

  • Strong organizational and compliance management skills.

  • Knowledge of indoor cultivation systems (lighting, HVAC, CO₂, irrigation).

  • Excellent analytical, communication, and leadership skills.

  • Proficiency in ERP, cultivation tracking, or other operational software systems.

  • Must meet all Mississippi medical cannabis licensing and background requirements.

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs occasionally and perform physical tasks typical of cultivation environments.

  • Comfort working in varying temperatures, humidity, and lighting conditions while using appropriate PPE.

  • Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends or holidays, as needed.
